The foot fetish thing caught me off guard, not gonna lie. I was scrolling through my usual spots for costume reference, right? Sometimes these romance games have surprisingly detailed character designs you can steal bits from. This one, Under One Roof: Step by Step, looked like standard slice of life fluff. Guy moves in with three girls, whatever. Then I'm clicking through dialogue about who's cooking dinner and suddenly there's a closeup of socked feet on the coffee table and the protagonist's internal monologue goes somewhere... specific. My eyebrow went up. I kept clicking.

The art is deliberately rough, like the artist was figuring things out as they went. Backgrounds sometimes look like watercolor blobs and character faces shift proportions between scenes. It bothered me at first but honestly? It adds this weird charm, like flipping through someone's unpolished sketchbook where they got a little too into drawing ankles. The relationship system is barebones. Pick dialogue options, watch a meter fill, unlock a scene. That's it. No complex branching, no hidden stats. One of the girls, the sporty one, her route dead ends abruptly if you miss a single conversation on day four. I had to restart. Annoying.

The creampie scenes are where the game stops pretending to be coy. There's this one moment with the shy girl in her bedroom, the lighting all warm and messy, and the way the scene lingers on the aftermath. It's not elegant but it's... thorough. The drama tag kicks in during the third act when secrets start spilling, and the humor is mostly accidental from the translation. "My heart is making the drum sounds" is a real line. I screenshotted it for my group chat. For outfit inspiration? The casual wear is actually decent. Loose sweaters, bike shorts, the kind of lazy home clothes that look comfortable. I'm stealing the shy girl's cardigan style for my next con, no shame. The foot stuff I could leave, but the rest has a scrappy honesty that polished games lack.
