The prophecy thing is a lie and I love it. You get this whole anime quest setup, chosen one bullshit, ancient scrolls, a kingdom on the brink, and then the game just lets you be the worst possible version of that hero. Or the best. Depends how much you enjoy watching the little dialogue portraits go from hopeful to horrified. The RPG bones are there, leveling, gear, branching paths, but the real progression is how deep into the nightmare you want to drag every NPC you meet.

Top 3 Moments You'll Want to Screenshot: one, the first time you pick the obviously evil dialogue option and the game doesn't punish you, it rewards you with a full CG scene that made me close my browser tab out of reflex. Two, when a side quest about finding a missing villager turns into a tentacle pit because you ignored a warning sign that was literally glowing red. Three, any time the "hero" title pops up over your character's head while he's doing something that would get him executed in any sane fantasy setting.

The art is rough in places, like the artist got bored halfway through a background and just smeared some purple fog over it. But the character sprites during the lewd scenes? Unhinged. The faces especially. There's a goblin encounter early on that has no right being that detailed. I wish the combat had more weight, but it's basically a menu clicker with extra steps. You won't get a deep tactical experience. You'll get a power fantasy where the power is being a complete degenerate and the fantasy is nobody stopping you.

It's like if Link from Zelda could just decide to side with Ganon but still keep the Master Sword. The dissonance is the point. Don't expect a redemption arc. Don't expect the game to judge you.
