Nax is the one I keep coming back to. That elf has this way of looking at you like she's already figured out exactly how you'll break and she's just waiting for you to catch up. The whole setup is these three adventurers, Yharnam, Morgana, and Nax, trudging home after a mission went to shit. You can feel the frustration rolling off them, that specific kind of pissed off where you're too tired to even complain properly. And then the goblins show up.

The CG scenes hit different when the characters actually had a personality five minutes ago. Morgana's whole arc is watching that tough exterior get peeled away, and the artist knew exactly what they were doing with her expressions. That moment where she's trying to keep her glare going but her eyes keep unfocusing? Yeah. The domination stuff isn't just tacked on, it's woven into how the story moves, which is rare for something that could've just been a slideshow.

I wish there was more to do with Yharnam's leadership angle. She's supposed to be the one holding the group together, and you get these glimpses of her trying to keep morale up even while everything's falling apart, but the game sort of forgets about that halfway through. The harem dynamic works because the three women actually talk to each other like people who've been through shit together, not just bodies waiting for their turn. Though let's be real, the goblins aren't exactly patient.

The fantasy setting does what it needs to. Elves are elves, goblins are... well, you know what goblins do in these games. The visual novel format means you're mostly clicking and reading, but the writing's got this dry humor that caught me off guard a few times. Nax making some sarcastic comment right before a scene starts, and then the scene plays out and you remember what she said and it's somehow both funnier and more fucked up. That's the tone this thing nails, that weird space where the characters are still themselves even when they're losing control.
