The sound of a zipper. Not the real world one, but that distinct, slightly compressed, layered-over-ambient-cave-echo zipper from the VRMMORPG. That’s what got me. Not the big tits, which are, okay, aggressively present and animated with that specific 3DCG jiggle that’s more enthusiastic than realistic. The sound design in this Japanese game is a weird, inconsistent beast. Some effects are stock library stuff you’ve heard in a hundred flash games, then suddenly there’s this wet, squelchy detail during a handjob scene that’s almost too good, too present. It makes the whole thing feel more invasive, which I guess is the point with the netorare creeping in.

The plot’s a Sword Art Online flavored mess where you and Asuna, your girlfriend, try to help some loser named Inoda with a stealth skill. You’d think the voyeurism tag would mean you’re doing the peeping, but no. The audio cues start shifting. You’ll be in the school setting, and the background murmur will fade, replaced by a low, thrumming silence before a specific, unmistakable wet noise plays. It’s a cheap trick, using sound to signal the cheating before the visuals do, but it works. The animated scenes themselves are a mixed bag. The monster stuff is whatever, but the teasing sequences, especially with the milf character, have this exaggerated, squirming motion that’s pure, uncanny valley spank bank material. The big ass physics are dialed up to eleven, bouncing with a rubbery persistence that defies anatomy.

I got stuck for ten minutes trying to trigger a specific groping scene in a dungeon, only to realize the turn based combat had a hidden morale meter I’d completely ignored. The game never explains it. Classic. The male protagonist is a total blank slate, which makes the netorare feel less like a betrayal and more like watching a particularly horny screensaver. The exhibitionism scenes are where the sound design really trips over itself, the public space ambience is so badly looped it sounds like a single, angry cicada trapped in a tin can, completely killing the mood. Still, the creampie finish animations have a finality to them, a specific, sticky sound effect that’s disgustingly memorable. It’s a game that knows exactly which buttons it’s mashing, even if it’s doing it with greasy fingers. The oral sex scenes have this sloppy, glottal stop quality to the audio that I wish they’d used more consistently. It’s a shame the adventure parts are such a slog to get to the good stuff.
