The whole audio mix is weirdly lo-fi, like someone recorded it in a bathroom with their phone, but that almost makes the wet pop of a button snapping louder. There’s no music during the actual swiping, just these isolated cloth noises and a heavy breath loop that cuts off too abruptly at the end of each cycle, like the file wasn’t trimmed properly.

The game itself, this Swipeball thing, is an arcade strip tease where you flick a ball across a field while a real model in a cheerleader uniform loses pieces of her outfit. The swiping mechanic has this dead zone near the bottom of the screen that I kept hitting, and the ball would just dribble pathetically nowhere. I wish the fabric sounds were tied to specific items instead of being random. You’ll hear a bra clasp unhook but the top is still visually there for another two goals, which breaks the whole sensory promise. The model’s poses change between rounds, and the creak of what I assume is a folding chair off camera is actually the most consistent audio cue you get. It’s like the foley artist forgot to mute the background and just left it in.

I got distracted thinking about how in old Flash games, the strip sequences were always these choppy sprite animations, but here the video clips have this strange compression artifact that makes skin look slightly waxy. The uniform itself, this shiny polyester thing, doesn’t make a rustle when she moves, which is a missed opportunity. Polyester should screech. There’s a moment when she’s down to just the skirt and pom-poms, and the sound of the pom-poms shaking is just white noise, no texture at all. I kept playing not because the stripping was particularly hot, but because I wanted to hear if the zipper sound would ever change pitch. It doesn’t. The final state, which I won’t spoil but you can guess, triggers a single chime that sounds exactly like my microwave timer, and I actually got up to check my kitchen before realizing.
