Boss is in a meeting so I'm alt tabbing through my backlog and this one. Hell Adventure. Right. The art is that specific kind of jank where the succubus' tits are drawn with more care than her face, which honestly tracks for the genre. You're some wizard who fell into the underworld and immediately the first puzzle is about using magic to, I don't know, unclog a lava pipe or something while a demon girl watches. The writing tries for humor and sometimes lands, like when you fail a spell and your robe catches fire and she just points and laughs. Actual chuckle.

Then the quest structure just sort of... happens. You meet two girls, they both have problems that are thinly veiled excuses for sex scenes. The puzzles are baby's first adventure game, click the obvious thing, combine the obvious items. I got stuck once because I didn't realize you could interact with a background torch that looked like decoration. That's on me but also come on. The NSFW stuff is where it gets weirdly compelling. The first succubus scene unlocked and I expected the usual static image with looping moans but the dialogue during it is genuinely funny, she keeps making snide comments about your technique while the animation plays. Made me laugh mid fap which is a strange combo. The second girl, some kind of hell noble, has a corruption arc that's supposed to be hot but the puzzle to unlock her final scene is so tedious I almost gave up. You have to match these infernal runes in a specific order and the feedback when you're wrong is just a buzzer sound. No hint. Sat there clicking patterns like a monkey.

Woke up thinking about the inventory system. Why does a magic game need a clunky grid inventory. You pick up a "soul shard" and it takes up one slot and you can't rotate it. Pointless. But that one animation where the succubus stretches after and her wings knock over a candelabra, that stuck with me. Small character moments in a game that otherwise feels like it was coded in a weekend. Not complaining. Well, a little. The hell aesthetic is just red caves and more red caves, wish there was some variety, maybe an ice hell or a flesh hell, but budget's budget. The sound design is mostly stock groans and a looping ambient scream that I eventually muted. Still, for something I clicked on between spreadsheets, the humor carried it further than the actual porn did. The succubus deserves her own spinoff where she just roasts the player for two hours. I'd replay that. This one, probably not, unless I forget the rune puzzle solution and get curious again. Which happens.
