Oh great, another strip poker game. But this one has a twist that is actually kind of stupid but I keep clicking play again. It is called Higher and the rule is not just about making a better hand. You literally steal cards that the other players throw away. The two girls, one brunette and one blonde, both in lingerie, they discard and you just snatch the cards right from the discard pile mid animation. It feels illegal. Like playing poker with your older cousin who changes the rules every turn. And the goal is to get them naked. Standard stuff.
The card stealing mechanic is the only reason to stay. You can grab a discarded ace to finish a straight and the game does not punish you. It encourages it. The poker logic is broken on purpose. You can literally lose a hand but still win because you stole better cards from the brunette while she was doing some little dance. She has this move where she leans over the table and her bra strap slips and you are too busy staring at her tits to notice she threw away a queen. I lost three hands in a row because of that distraction. The arcade part comes in with some weird catcher minigame between rounds where you move a little basket to catch falling chips or cards or something. I do not understand why it is there. It breaks the flow. You are undressing a girl one card at a time and then suddenly you are playing fucking pachinko with no instructions.
The pole dancing bits are unlocked after you get one girl topless. She goes to a pole in the background and does a short loop. It is fine. Not real fluid animation, more like she is gliding. The real model tag made me think there would be actual photos but no, it is just rendered models that look like stock photos from a cheap cam site. The blonde has this face that does not move when she talks. Creepy. But her lingerie is nice, black lace with little bows. I spent too much time trying to zoom in on the brunette's stockings during the poker game and accidentally clicked the fold button. Lost a round but honestly worth it. The game punishes you for being horny and distracted, which is the whole point. I would not call it good. But I played it for forty minutes without realizing. The sound design is just a loop of casino noises and a woman giggling every time you steal a card. That giggle is burned into my brain.
The minigame with the pole and the catcher feel tacked on like they wanted to hit three genres in one. I would have preferred more card stealing and less basket catching. Also there is no save function that I could find. You close the tab and the girls are dressed again. Annoying but maybe that is the point. Like a roguelike for lonely people. The strip part is very slow. It takes forever to get the blonde's panties off because she keeps winning with shit hands while you are busy trying to steal her discards but she barely discards anything useful. It is maddening. The girl just sits there with a smirk. I wanted to throw my laptop. But then the brunette finally took off her bra and I forgot about the blonde entirely. Stupid game. I will probably play it again tonight.
