The whole thing feels like someone scanned an early 2000s eroge, left the JPEG artifacts in on purpose, then slapped a password screen at the end like we’re trading cheat codes in a schoolyard. Mai Saotome, private police, whatever that means. She takes a bodyguard gig for some rich kid and immediately starts poking around his dad’s company, Dibero. Dibero. Sounds like a pasta shape.
The 3D is stiff, the faces sometimes slide around like melted wax, but weirdly that’s part of the charm. Mai’s skirt is criminally short even for anime logic, and the camera knows it. There’s a scene where she leans over a desk to look at documents and the angle just sits there, unblinking, like a security cam with a boner. Takayama, her partner, says maybe four lines total but his presence is pure plot convenience.
The detective part is thin. You click through dialogue, occasionally get a choice that mostly affects whether Mai blushes or acts tough. The hentai content is sparse here, mostly setup, a couple of tease scenes, one weirdly long shower sequence that loops the same water sound three times. I wanted the millionaire son to be more of a brat but he’s just… there. Like a cardboard cutout with a tie.
What bugs me is the password at the end. You finish this prologue and it hands you a code for part two. Fine. But the code is tied to the save file, so if your browser wipes cookies, say goodbye. That’s a level of cruelty I respect but also hate.
The visual novel bones are okay. If you’ve played any Japanese indie detective eroge from like 2008, you know the drill. Mai’s design carries it. That one mole under her eye does more acting than the entire script.
