You ever download a game just because the redhead on the thumbnail has that specific look. You know the one. I won't even pretend I had higher motives.

My Boyfriend's Roommate wastes zero time. That's the first thing that works. You get about three text boxes of setup before choice icons start popping up. The premise is what it says on the tin, you're the girlfriend, boyfriend's gone, his roommate is... there. Redhead. Freckles. That slightly-too-small tank top the artist clearly enjoyed drawing. The translation is a mess. Straight up. Sentences break in weird places and sometimes a word will just be in another language entirely. It adds to the charm, I think. Or maybe I'm just used to this from years of browsing certain sites on my phone at 1 AM, telling myself I'm doing "research."

What got me was the relationship meter you can't see. There's a whole hidden points system and I didn't even realize until my third run when I got an ending that wasn't just a single CG. You can actually navigate this into something resembling a poly situation if you don't just blindly click the horniest option every time. The sex scenes are explicit, don't get me wrong. There's a lot of focus on the roommate's chest, the artist has a clear preference and I'm not complaining. One scene in particular where you're on the couch and a choice lets you drag things out instead of rushing, the dialogue gets surprisingly soft. Then the next scene is just filthy. It's tonal whiplash but the good kind.

The CG hentai art is the selling point. It's not polished to death, lines are a bit rough, but that makes it feel more... personal? Like you found someone's private stash. The boyfriend character is barely a factor, he's a plot device. I honestly forgot his name mid playthrough. Which is probably the point. This isn't about him.

I just wish the game remembered my window size between scenes. Tiny thing. Irrational annoyance. Every time it reset I wanted to scream.
