Layla's apartment has this shitty flickering light in the hallway. I kept clicking on it thinking it was a clue or something. It's not. It's just a broken light. That's the whole game really, this constant feeling that something should work differently but it doesn't, and you're left staring at the consequences of choices you made three scenes ago wondering if that's when everything started going wrong.
The sex scenes hit different when you know she's doing it to keep the landlord off her back for another week. Not hot different. Just... different. There's this one scene with her boss where the dialogue options are basically "enthusiastic yes," "reluctant yes," and "cry but still yes" and I sat there for like five minutes staring at my phone. My actual phone. Not the in-game one. The writing doesn't judge you but it also doesn't let you pretend you're not complicit. Which is weird because I've played darker stuff that didn't make me feel like I needed a shower after.
The art is inconsistent. Some scenes look carefully posed and others look like someone rushed through the anatomy. Layla's face changes slightly between updates which is distracting. But then there's this moment where she's just sitting on her bed, fully clothed, staring at her bank account on her laptop, and the expression is so specific and tired that I forgot I was supposed to be horny. The corruption isn't a switch that flips. It's more like watching someone slowly stop bothering to lock their door at night. You don't notice the exact moment it happens, just that it already has.
