The zombie placement thing is actually kind of interesting, not just random clicking. You have these lanes, right, and you pick which rotting bastard goes where, trying to build a wave that can actually reach Jill before she blows them apart. It's a weird mix of tower defense but you're the one sending the towers. Or the attackers. Whatever. The first few times I just threw everything at the strongest lane and watched her pistol whip them into paste. Then I noticed the skinny ones slip through sometimes when she's reloading. There's a timing to it that's not obvious at first.

The domination tag makes sense once you actually get a zombie through. It's not just a win screen. The scene plays out with Jill completely overpowered, and the camera lingers on her face while the zombie just... takes what it wants. The voice work, if you can call those grunts and gasps voice work, is surprisingly effective for something this rough around the edges. Actually rough is generous. The models look like someone discovered Blender last Tuesday and decided Jill's chest should enter the room three seconds before the rest of her. I wish the zombie designs had more variety. You're staring at them the whole match and they're basically three dudes with different shades of grey skin. Won't be fixed. Never is with these games.

Speaking of things that won't be fixed, the logic system. Sometimes a zombie that should obviously reach her just stops, like it forgot it had a job. Stares at a wall. I lost a perfect run once because my last crawler decided to admire the architecture. Maybe that's horror. Existential zombie crisis. But when it works, when you perfectly stagger the waves and one slips past her shotgun blast, there's this nasty little thrill. Not replayable in the traditional sense. You figure out the optimal lane assignment after a few tries and then you're just watching the same animations. But for what it is, a ten minute dirty strategy puzzle with a classic character, it scratches something. The community hasn't done much with it. No mods I could find. Missed opportunity honestly.
