The mom character pours another drink and I'm sitting there thinking, wait, is this the vampire or just a regular alcoholic. That confusion is honestly the best part. The game throws you into this kid's life, fresh out of school, zero prospects, and his mother is basically marinating in depression wine. It's so specifically bleak that when the hot neighbor shows up with her whole mysterious vibe, you're already primed to make terrible decisions.
The neighbor, she's got that look. You know the one. Big tits, animated just enough to be distracting during conversations that are supposedly about "a world you never knew existed." There's a groping scene early on that feels like it was animated by someone who really, really focused on the physics of a handful and forgot to animate the facial expressions. Priorities, I guess. The mystery plot about vampires and whatever mystical nonsense is happening in Ashwood keeps threatening to become interesting, but then a milf shows up and the protagonist's inner monologue goes full caveman. Can't blame him. The dude's been bullied his whole life and suddenly lesbians and vampires are paying attention to him. His emotional range goes from "I am worthless" to "boobs" in 0.3 seconds flat.
The violence tag is doing some heavy lifting here. There's a scene with blood that's clearly supposed to be shocking but the 3DCG models have that slightly plastic sheen, so it looks like someone spilled jam on a mannequin. I wish the game committed harder to either the horror or the horny instead of this polite middle ground where a vampire bite is treated with the same dramatic weight as a titty drop. The animated nudity is there, it's functional, the jiggle is acceptable. But the mystery part keeps interrupting my mystery part, if you catch my drift. The soundtrack is this looping ambient thing that sounds like a haunted spa. It never changes, even when someone's getting groped, which creates this weird dissonance where I'm half expecting a masseuse to walk in.
