You know that bit in the old lore where they say the Imperium runs on paperwork? They weren't kidding. This game puts you in the chair of some mid-level Adeptus Administratum drone and honestly, the first ten minutes is just reading case files. Some agri world dispute about grain tithes. A complaint about a missing shipment of promethium. I almost closed the tab because I got enough of that shit at my actual job.

But then a scribe comes in, all nervous and fidgeting with her robes, and she's not there about forms. She's lonely. Her hab block is freezing, her supervisor is a dick, and she just wants to feel something warm for an hour. The AI art does this thing where her eyes are slightly too big and her skin is too smooth, like a doll that learned to blush. It's uncanny but in a way that fits the setting. Everything in the Imperium is slightly wrong, you know? The sex scene is straightforward, vaginal on your desk, papers scattering. She calls you "sir" the whole time. Not in a bratty way. In a way that makes you feel like a cog in a machine that fucks.

The character creator lets you be a paranoid wreck or an empath or a manipulator. I picked paranoid because that's just good sense in 40k. Your internal monologue changes based on it. During a meeting with a planetary governor's aide, my guy kept thinking she was a heretic. She wasn't. Or maybe she was. The game doesn't always tell you. She offered oral sex to expedite a trade permit and I accepted because the writing made me feel like refusing would mean three more hours of fictional bureaucracy. That's the weird part. The sex isn't the reward. Avoiding the paperwork is.

The milf character is a Munitorum official who's been doing this for decades. Her dialogue is bitter and tired and when you sleep with her it's almost sad. She talks about her dead husband while undressing. The AI cg here is less polished, her anatomy goes a bit wonky in one position, but the expression on her face is perfect. Resigned. Using you as much as you're using her. There's a virgin character too, a young guardsman who's about to ship out. That scene felt exploitative in a way I'm still thinking about. Not the game being exploitative. Me. My choices. The dystopian setting means nobody is really okay and the sex reflects that. It's not hot in a normal way. It's hot in a "everything is awful and we're all going to die" way.

Wish there was more variety in the locations. It's always your office or their cramped quarters. The game knows what it is though. A bleak little fuck simulator with too much reading. I'll probably play again as a nihilist.
