The representation of registered nurses in popular media has actually been a subject of conflict for several years. Registered nurses, that are highly proficient and committed healthcare professionals, are commonly portrayed in a stereotyped and sexualized manner, which can have destructive effects on the general public's perception of the profession. One such instance is the representation of the 'turned on registered nurse 'that agrees to take part in sex-related tasks with people. This stereotype is not just impractical but also undermines the expertise and ethics of nursing.
