You know what got me? The sound design. Or rather, the almost complete lack of it. Just these wet, deliberate clicks when you select a dialogue option that'll probably end with someone's dignity in tatters. Princess Auriane, fresh on the throne, already has that look in her eyes, the one that says "I could fix this kingdom or I could make everyone call me something much less formal." The 3DCG models aren't winning any awards, stiff joints and that plastic sheen we all pretend to hate, but somehow it works for the corruption arc. Like watching a porcelain doll slowly get smeared with filth.
The management layer is deceptively simple. You're balancing court approval against... let's call it personal enrichment. Miss a few council meetings to let a rough handed general show you how the common folk live, and suddenly the treasury's a mess. Who cares. The real currency is how many times you can make Auriane's voice actress breathe through a line about "diplomatic negotiations" while the animation loops a very different kind of treaty signing. There's this one scene with a rival diplomat where you can either outmaneuver him politically or just let him bend you over the war table. I spent twenty minutes on that choice. The map didn't even change afterwards. That's not a bug, that's a statement about futility, maybe.
Male domination routes feel expected, the elf king who wants to make you his pet, the advisor with wandering hands. Standard fare. But the female domination threads, especially with your own handmaiden, have this vicious intimacy the rest of the game lacks. She knows exactly where all the bodies are buried because she helped you dig the graves. One moment you're ordering her to lick your boots, the next she's got three fingers inside you and you're not sure who's really in charge anymore. The fantasy politics are just window dressing for that question, really. The whole thing runs in browser, by the way, so it crashes if you have too many tabs open. Ironic for a game about losing control. The corruption path locks you out of the "good" ending so early it's almost a joke. Almost. Dare to play it alone, or invite company?
