My boss has this painting in his office. A real one, not a print. I know because I drove him to the gallery when he bought it. The frame alone probably costs more than my apartment. And now I'm sitting in his leather chair, the one that smells like cigars and old money, while my girlfriend's perfume still hangs in the air from when she was here earlier. She said it was just a meeting about some paperwork. Paperwork. Right.
The game doesn't look like much. Kind of ugly actually, like someone drew it with a mouse in MS Paint while drunk. But that's the thing about outsider art, you know? The jank is the point. The faces are wrong in a way that makes you keep looking. Click here, click there. Choose what to say. I picked the option to stay quiet when my boss mentioned her name. Big mistake maybe. Or maybe not. The whole thing feels like watching a car crash through a dirty window.
Got ending number 2 first try. Something about a suitcase and a one way ticket. Then went back and got the one where everything burns. Literally burns. The fire effect is just orange scribbles but my stomach dropped anyway. There's 4 endings total and I still haven't found the one where anyone's actually happy. The choices are simple but they sit in your brain like a splinter. Do you trust her? Do you trust him? Do you trust yourself? The sex scenes are there but they feel wrong, like you shouldn't be watching. Which I guess is the point of a twisted plot tag. Lesson of passion indeed. More like lesson of what happens when money meets desperation. The love tag feels like a joke someone told that nobody laughed at.
