The first time a curse spirit’s tentacle wraps around your waist in Confidential Files, I actually laughed. Not because it’s funny, but because the whole thing feels like someone took a Jujutsu Kaisen doujin and said yeah, let’s make the UI as jank as possible. The turn based combat is basically rock paper scissors with extra steps and somehow the groping mechanics are tied to your attack choices. Miss a cue and you’re getting felt up by a monster that looks like it crawled out of a hentai sketchbook from 2004. The 2DCG art has that rough, almost unfinished linework that somehow makes the vaginal sex scenes hit harder. Like finding a really good piece on Pixiv at 2am when you should be sleeping.
The humor is what keeps me clicking though. Multiple protagonists means you switch between characters who all have this deadpan reaction to getting absolutely wrecked by cursed energy tentacles. One minute you’re strategizing buffs, next minute the monster just ignores your defense and the scene cuts to a closeup that’s way more detailed than anything else in the game. Priorities, I guess. The sound design is nonexistent except for this one wet squelch effect that plays during penetration and it’s so out of place I can’t tell if it’s a bug or intentional genius. Probably both.
I wish the male protagonist wasn’t so... there. He’s just kind of a vessel for bad decisions and the other characters carry every scene. But then again, watching him fumble a counter and get pinned down while the text box describes something that’d get you banned from Crunchyroll comments? That’s the whole vibe. It’s not polished, it’s not balanced, and the Shibuya setting is basically just a backdrop for monster sex. But I keep replaying the cursed womb encounter because the animation loop glitches in a way that makes the whole thing feel accidental and raw. Like peeking at something you weren’t supposed to see. Which, given the whole confidential files premise, might actually be the point.
