The camera zoom is the best part. No joke. You get this little camera item and when you rip a costume to the next state, it does this slow zoom in. That's it. That's the mechanic that made me actually laugh out loud, sitting there in my Espeon cosplay thinking about all those anime moments where the camera just lingers a little too long during a transformation sequence. You know exactly what I mean. The game knows too.
I spent way too long in the shop room just triggering random cutscenes. There's a bunch of new ones and they have a chance to fire after you save certain cosplayers. One minute you're buying potions, the next some dialogue pops up that feels like it was ripped straight from a doujin's bonus pages. The art by Emily has this soft, almost pudding-like quality (fitting, check her deviantart) that makes the lewd stuff hit different. It's not trying to be hyper realistic. It's going for that specific flavor of horny that lives in sketchy anime fanart and late night newgrounds browsing.
The combat though. Oh man, the spell system. Lightning damage scales with max MP now but gets dramatically lowered if you have the healing scissors debuff. Who balances this? I don't know. Grass spells do more damage under that same debuff but get wrecked if you're on fire. And fire scales with MP too but gets tanked if you're shocked. It's this weird rock paper scissors where the status effects matter more than your actual stats. I found a shiny Nurse Joy cosplayer and almost lost her because I didn't understand the shock vs fire interaction. Almost threw my laptop. The Umbreon cosplayer is ultra rare apparently and I haven't seen one yet. Been grinding that new area past the beach room for hours. The boss fights don't let you run anymore which is... a choice. The Eevee animation has two parts now and the second part is where the camera zoom really earns its place in the game.
Typing friendzonedagain in the Patreon input reverts the topless portraits. That's such a specific saftey net and I respect it. The stickers by GrossGirl add this layer of crude charm that contrasts nicely with the softer character art. It's like the game can't decide if it wants to be cute or filthy and honestly that's the whole appeal of cosplay isn't it. The new music track, some fanmade Sun and Moon rival encounter remix, slaps harder than it has any right to for a porn game.
