You ever just stare at a pixelated ass and think "yeah, this is where the budget went"? Because Between Rounds Prologue is that. The AI CG tag is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, and sometimes the fingers look like melted candles, but then there's this one scene with the godmother where her nightgown is slipping and suddenly I don't care about hands anymore. At all. The animation is minimal, mostly just breathing cycles and the occasional hair sway, but the Renpy engine keeps it moving at a pace that doesn't make you want to throw your monitor out the window.

The whole thing is a cheating adjacent drama bomb wrapped in a slice of life burrito. Leon's got this whole harem brewing, classic male protag stuff, but the real tension is with the woman who raised him. It's not full on corruption yet, this is just the prologue, so you get a lot of that frustratingly good teasing. A hand on the thigh that lingers too long, a hug that's a little too tight where you can practically feel the devs adjusting the breast physics slider. There's a handjob scene that's so awkwardly framed by the AI art it's almost funny, but the dialogue during it is pure cringe romance gold. I'm not gonna lie, I laughed.

Speaking of dialogue, the writing is exactly what you'd expect from a drama heavy visual novel translated by someone who definitely doesn't speak English natively but is trying really hard. "A temptation he tries hard to ignore" is repeated like a mantra. The fights feel like they were run through Google Translate twice. And yet, I kept clicking. The godmother character, she's got this massive... personality, and the groping scenes are just direct enough. It's not polished, it's not clever, but when the oral sex scene finally kicks in, the sheer audacity of the AI generated angles makes you forget you're basically reading a soap opera written by a horny algorithm. The milf energy is off the charts.
