The first thing that hits you is the music. Or what passes for it. A chiptune loop so aggressively lo-fi it sounds like a Game Boy drowning in a toilet. I’m a sucker for that shit, the raw square wave buzz that digs into your skull. This game’s soundtrack is a mess of stolen arpeggios and basslines that clip into static, and I’ve had it stuck in my head for three days. It’s perfect. The actual game, though? A fucking disasterpiece.
You’re some dude in a dungeon, right, and the whole point is to stab slimes and get your dick wet. The combat is this janky, turn-based thing where the hit detection feels like a suggestion. I spent ten minutes trying to line up a pixel-perfect attack on a goblin, only for the game to freeze and then suddenly I’m in a hardcore scene with a wolfman. No transition, no logic. The wolfman’s sprite just clipped through my character and the screen filled with a tiled texture of fur and flesh. The sound effect was a single, distorted scream sample that cut off mid-loop. I laughed so hard I choked on my drink. The “monster hunter” tag is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, more like monster fucker with extra steps and zero consent from the game engine.
Wish the inventory system wasn’t a cryptic nightmare. You pick up a “glistening root” and it just vanishes into a void. No tooltip, no stat change. Later, you’ll be in a dialogue with a bored-looking elf and suddenly the root is an option, leading to a scene that’s all close-up pixel art of… well, you get it. The whole thing runs on broken triggers and misplaced hope. The fantasy setting is just a skin, a thin coat of paint over a collection of sex scenes held together by duct tape and a prayer to a forgotten sprite artist. The “adventure” is just you bumping into walls until something fucks you.
There’s a minotaur later on. His idle animation is just two frames, a slight shift in his loincloth. When the scene triggered, the game dropped to what felt like 2 frames per second, each one a new, more absurd position. The music didn’t change. It just kept blasting that same tinny, heroic loop while the minotaur’s pixelated junk filled half the screen. I’ve seen more polish on a bootleg NES cart from a flea market. And honestly, that’s the whole vibe. This isn’t a game you play, it’s a glitch you experience. A beautiful, horny car crash coded by someone who definitely spent more time on the cumshot sprites than the walking animation. The whole thing feels like a corrupted ROM you’d find on a dusty forum at 3 AM, and I mean that as the highest compliment.
