The first time I got Jennifer’s ending I actually laughed out loud, then felt kind of gross about it. The whole setup is this weird Back to the Future thing but the flux capacitor is just an excuse to get you into 1950s skirts. You’re in Marty’s body, sure, but the game doesn’t give a shit about the space-time continuum. It cares about how many times you can make Lorraine’s sprite blush before the school dance.

The corruption system is where the emergent plot actually lives. It’s not just a meter filling up. I was trying to keep things vanilla with the girl next door type, you know the one with the ponytail who helps you with the history project. But then I missed a dialogue check during the soda shop scene and the whole narrative branched into this netorare spiral I did not consent to. I just sat there staring at the screen while my supposed best friend from the future timeline swooped in. The 2dcg art is deliberately unpolished, like someone drew it on a napkin, and somehow that makes the oral sex scenes hit different. Less is more, or whatever. The janky lines make your brain fill in the gaps.

I wish the sci-fi elements mattered at all. They don’t. The DeLorean is just a static background jpeg you click past. I spent twenty minutes trying to find a way to use the almanac to cheat the dating stats, but the game doesn’t recognize that kind of player creativity. It’s a railroad. A very specific, sticky railroad.

The school setting feels like a fever dream. One minute you’re answering a trivia question about the Cold War, the next you’re figuring out how to unhook a bra through a pixelated sweater. I abandoned a save file because I felt actual guilt. Then I reloaded a backup. The history is wrong, the parody is thin, but the way a character’s expression changes when you push the corruption too far. That’s the real plot. It’s not about getting back to the future. It’s about ruining the past.
