My brain is still stuck on that stupid cabbage. Not a euphemism. There's an actual quest about hunting flying cabbages and it's the most Konosuba thing imaginable, right next to Darkness getting flustered in the guild hall. This whole thing is a messy, horny love letter to the anime and it absolutely knows it. The dialogue for Megumin is spot on, all chuuni explosions and dramatic poses, but then she'll blush and it hits that exact tsundere frequency. The animations, they have this raw, slightly janky motion that somehow makes the scenes hotter. Like, it's not some slick, over-produced 3D render. It feels more like a really good doujin that started moving. Yunyun's first scene lives rent free in my head, the way her shyness breaks down frame by frame. But Aqua's route feels like it's written by someone who actually hates her, which, okay, fair to her character, but it makes the payoff feel mean-spirited instead of funny.

The RPG part is where my patience died a little. You level up, equip junk, and the combat is a basic turn-based slog that's just there to gate the next story bit. I grinded slimes for twenty minutes to afford a new sword just so a dialogue option would change. Twenty minutes. And the receptionist minigame is literally doing paperwork. I'm clicking on quest sheets to match adventurers to jobs and my real life is already full of that. Why would I want to LARP as an office drone inside my porn game? It's a bizarre design choice that sucks the energy out of the room.

But then, and I hate that this works, you get a scene with Rem. Not Konosuba's Rem, a different one, and she's washing your back in a bathhouse and the writing suddenly gets quiet and intimate. All that guild hall chaos fades away. It's a genuine moment in a sea of parody and I'm left wondering how a fan game that lets you literally screw around in a dungeon can pivot to something almost tender. The 34 scenes are a mixed bag, some feel like a checkbox being ticked, others have this weird, earnest heat to them. It's an uneven mess, but the parts that stick, they really stick. Like that damn cabbage.
