I went in expecting, I dunno, some basic yaoi bait with a jungle backdrop. What I got was Amber having a full on crisis of identity while his buddy Gabriel watches him with these eyes that say way more than the dialogue. The game looks deliberately rough around the edges, like someone's sketchbook came to life, and honestly that makes the whole thing feel more intimate. Like finding someone's private drawings.

The Colorado River sequence dragged. Too much paddling talk, not enough of what I was actually there for. But then there's this moment in the tent where Mateo, who I thought was just the muscle, starts talking about the constellations and suddenly his hand is on Amber's thigh and I realized I'd been holding my breath. The CGs aren't polished. They're messy and hot in a way that feels almost too personal. One scene with Gabriel against some ruins had this rough pencil quality that somehow made everything more intense than any hyper rendered 3D thing I've seen. The achievements pop up at the weirdest times too. Got one called "First Contact" and nearly choked on my drink.

Wish there was more voice acting, or any really. The silence during the explicit scenes is strange at first but then you start filling in the sounds yourself and maybe that's worse. Or better. I can't decide. The 75k words thing sounds impressive but some of it is definitely padding about archaeology that I clicked through. Though weirdly I started caring about whether they'd find the stupid city. The bara elements are there if you squint, Mateo especially, but it's more about the tension between these three men who are supposedly just colleagues. Dare to play it alone, or invite company?

So the summoning goes wrong and this demon Alister gets yanked into some prissy fantasy kingdom. Right away you can tell the art is rough, like someone drew it on a napkin during a boring meeting. But the jank has its own charm, you know? The prince character Izaak has this permanent scowl that makes him look constipated and I couldn't stop staring at it. Not in a good way. But then Alek the gnome shows up and something about his stupid grin just works.

The sex scenes hit different when the characters look slightly off model. There's this one moment with Alister and Izaak where the anatomy goes a bit wild, limbs bending in ways that would make a chiropractor weep, but honestly? Made it hotter. Like finding a dirty magazine where the printing plates slipped. The dialogue during these bits is wonderfully blunt. No flowery metaphors about crashing waves. Just "I want your cock" and then they get to it. The gnome has a surprisingly filthy mouth for a bard. Or maybe not surprising. Bards gonna bard.

Wish there was more with the warlock they're hunting. The whole setup teases this dangerous magic user on the loose and then the demo just... stops. Blue balls of the narrative variety. Also the sound design is basically nonexistent except for this one wet squelch effect that plays at the worst possible moments and I laughed so hard I had to pause. Not complaining though. Sometimes you need a game that feels like it was made by actual perverts instead of a committee. The bara influence on Alister's design is nice, broad shoulders and thick thighs that the sprite work doesn't quite do justice but your imagination fills in the gaps. If they ever finish this thing I hope they lean harder into the demon anatomy. Give me more tail action. Give me horns that actually get grabbed. The foundation is there, just needs more depravity piled on top.

Burdoc’s mouth tastes like cheap honey candy and bad decisions. That’s the first thing that stuck with me, not the festival countdown or whatever. Tomai’s got 15 days and I’m supposed to care about some Night Festival but honestly I just kept picking the dialogue options that led back to that dusty storage room behind the temple. The game is deliberately rough, like someone sketched the character sprites on a napkin and then spilled tea on it. Malik’s jawline changes thickness between scenes. It’s kind of perfect.

The whole thing feels like reading a doujin where the artist gave up on backgrounds halfway through but absolutely nailed the way fabric bunches up when someone’s getting undressed. There’s this one scene with the Lady, her fingers tracing Tomai’s collarbone, and the text just stops being coy. She tells him he’s been a very good boy for his father and the power dynamic shifts so fast I had to put my phone down for a second. The polyamorous threads aren’t treated like some big revelation, it’s just how these people orbit each other. Burdoc and Malik have this easy physicality, wrestling that turns into something else, and Tomai’s father watches from the doorway with an expression that’s supposed to be unreadable but honestly just looks like the artist forgot to finish his face.

I spent way too long on the flower arranging minigame. You’re supposed to be picking blossoms for the festival garlands but the hitbox is terrible and I kept grabbing weeds instead. It doesn’t matter. What matters is Malik pinning Tomai against the garden wall after, his hand over Tomai’s mouth because the priestess is right around the corner. The sound design is nonexistent but my brain filled in the heavy breathing anyway. The coming of age stuff is there if you squint, Tomai figuring out he wants everyone, not just one person, and the game doesn’t punish you for it. That’s rare. Usually these things make you pick a route and stick to it like some kind of romantic tax form.

The queer lens here isn’t sanitized. It’s messy and horny and sometimes the dialogue reads like it was translated through three languages and a fever dream. “Your warmth is a problem I want to solve” is an actual line Burdoc says during the bathhouse scene and I still don’t know if it’s terrible or genius. The yaoi beats hit, the stolen glances, the wrist grabs, but then the Lady walks in and suddenly it’s not just boys being boys anymore. The comedy comes from how seriously everyone takes the festival while simultaneously trying to get into each other’s pants. Priorities.
